Hotspot Groningen: Vapiano

Hotspot Groningen: Vapiano

Hello sunshines,

Today (11th of May) was the official opening of Vapiano in Groningen, so ofcourse we had to check it out immediately! After enjoying a sunny afternoon in the city we decided to get some dinner there. The restaurant is located at the Nieuwe Markt – which is between Grote Markt and Poeleplein.

Vapiano is a German franchise concept with restaurants in 30 different countries. You can order pizza, pasta, salads and some other side dishes at the stations where the chefs prepare your dish directly in front of you. You can also order drinks and desserts at the bar. You pay with a card that you get when you enter the restaurant and you take the drinks/food to the place you want to sit.

We were really impressed by how the place looks. First of all, it’s really spacious; there are two floors and a roof terrace! With 1300 m2 it’s the biggest one of the Netherlands! The interior is simple but pretty. With lots of oak tables, plants, and black and white art. Make sure to check out the pictures added below!

We both ordered a pasta; one ”Carbonara Salmone” and one ”Gamberetti”. They were both good. You really taste the fresh ingredients they use. The portions are just enough. Also the prices are not too high, which makes it the perfect new hotspot in Groningen for students. Soon, they will be opening a Vapiano takeaway next door.

We will definitely come back more often. Have you tried Vapiano yet? Let us know!

XOXO DD
